Hello, We Are FAMECanada

FAMECanada exists to serve the Lord Jesus Christ by serving those with medical needs around the world.   FAMECanada was first conceived in the spring of 1990 when Dr. Marvin Clark and Marla Clark were travelling to the Ivory Coast of Africa visiting Dr. Brenda Clark and Milton Clark in the mission field. During this trip, the Clark’s witnessed firsthand the physical, mental and spiritual suffering of these precious souls. Because of this need, we as Christians and Canadians wanted to help these children of God in their pain and suffering. Action was needed!

In the summer of 1992 a steering committee was put in place and set out a constitution and bylaws for FAME Canada. Federal incorporation was granted on June 20, 1993. Revenue Canada accepted FAME Canada as a registered charity under the income tax laws on August 10, 1993. The first board meeting of FAME Canada was held on July 10, 1993.

Due to restructuring of health care in Canada, FAME Canada saw the exciting possibility of taking surplus equipment from Canadian hospitals to serve the many needs of the Developing World. Depots were established with a team willing to accept donations of equipment and supplies to FAME Canada.

Over the past few years we have focused on short term medical missions and supporting local practitioners with the medication and supplies that they need.  Our areas of focus are Haiti, Guatemala and Ethiopia.

For the past several years, FAMECanada has ordered medicine from IDA in Amsterdam and had it shipped directly to Haiti. IDA redistributes medications from manufacturers to medical NGOs at a fraction of the cost. In March 2019 our latest shipment was delivered!

Statement of Faith

 

  • We believe the Bible to be the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.

  • We believe that there is only one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

  • We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in his virgin birth, in his sinless life, in his miracles, his vicarious and atoning death through his shed blood, in his bodily resurrection, in his ascension to the right hand of the father and in his personal return to power and glory.

  • We believe that the salvation of the lost and sinful people, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.

  • We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling, the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.

  • We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: that they are saved unto the resurrection of life and that they are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
