Spreading the fame of Christ Jesus with medical service
Guatemala
Don and Kathy Neily lead medical teams to Guatemala. Their goal is to send medication and supplies to the medical clinic there and to provide a laboratory in a box so that local practitioners will be able to provide ongoing care between teams. They would also like to sponsor 2 students to begin medical careers.

To:
Dr. Donald Neily & F.A.M.E.
I greet you in the name of our Almighty Lord, wishing that you are in very good health and that you are sharing with your loved ones.
First of all, I want to thank you with all my heart for the unconditional support you give me during this stage of my studies. In the first stage of my practice: it was the hospital, which I did at the Tac c Permanent Center, I was in the bed and emergency area. Thank God it all ended well. It was an experience where day by day one learns from new situations. Now I am in the second phase, which I do in the community area of the Tamahú Alta Verapaz municipality; it really is a very different environment from a hospital since the a en on is focused on the prevention and promo on of health.
I am also carrying out my Nursing Care Process to a high risk patient. The man has been in bed for four months because of an act of violence; he was beaten to such an extent that he became a quadriplegic. Due to lack of knowledge of care, the family did not mobilize him, therefore pressure ulcers arose at the sacral level, trochanter, malleoli and heels. The pa ent was discovered 15 days ago, unfortunately the ulcers were already in stage IV. Since then home visits have been carried out; Foley catheter cures and cares are performed due to urinary eliminate on problems. We have no other means to improve his health. It should be noted that the family has limited resources, which is why it is impossible for them to acquire membranes for their speedy recovery. So an air mattress was arranged so that he does not remain on the wooden bed.
The story and situation on has had a great impact on my life; it is heartbreaking to see the suffering of the unhealthy. But it is so gratifying that I can feel useful. Through this situation, I have been able to see the Lord's hand, his faithfulness and his great love. I can clearly say that God has guided me to this profession and my desire was, and is to be a useful vessel in his kingdom.
All of this has been possible thanks to your input. I thank God for your lives. I bless you and may God grant the requests of your hearts.
Sincerely,
Sonia Elizabet Beb Choc
P.S. I ask for your prayers for the patient and for Guatemala, so that one day the health system can improve.
